Outpatient Rehabilitation at The Vista: Healing, Strength, and Support at Home

At The Vista, every aspect of our community is thoughtfully designed to engage, inspire, and promote healthy, active living. From fun and energizing fitness classes to innovative wellness programs and convenient on-site health screenings and clinics, residents have access to the resources they need to feel their best every day. One of The Vista’s most valuable services is our outpatient rehabilitation program, conveniently located just steps from your door at The Vista gym.
“Our rehabilitation therapists offer a range of benefits that focus on promoting longevity, improving mobility, and managing chronic conditions,” said Maria Houston, Wellness Coordinator at The Vista. “These services are available five days a week, making it simple and convenient for residents to access care.”
As a resident, this on-site approach to rehabilitation allows you to receive high-quality, professional therapy in a familiar and comfortable environment. Whether you are recovering from surgery, managing a neurological condition, working to regain strength and independence after an illness or injury, or simply want to improve your mobility, we can help you reach your goals.
What Is Outpatient Rehabilitation?
Outpatient rehabilitation focuses on helping you recover, rebuild, and maintain mobility while continuing to live independently. At The Vista, our rehabilitation therapists will design a personalized treatment plan to meet your unique needs, goals, and lifestyle.
Services include:
- Physical therapy to help improve strength, balance, mobility, and endurance
- Occupational therapy to help you with daily activities such as dressing, bathing, cooking, and other essential tasks
- Speech therapy to help you with any communication challenges, cognitive skills, and swallowing concerns
Specialized Programs for Parkinson’s Disease
For residents living with Parkinson’s disease, The Vista offers specialized, evidence-based therapy programs designed specifically for this condition. These include LSVT BIG®, LSVT LOUD®, and SPEAK OUT!®, which are nationally recognized programs proven to improve movement, voice, and communication.
These targeted therapies help individuals with Parkinson’s strengthen their motor skills, increase vocal volume, and improve clarity of speech, supporting greater independence and ability to perform daily activities. Having access to these programs on-site means residents can receive consistent, specialized care without leaving the community they call home.
Prehabilitation Services
Outpatient rehabilitation at The Vista also offers prehabilitation, or “prehab,” services. Prehab is designed to prepare the body for surgery by improving strength, flexibility, and endurance ahead of time. Research shows that individuals who participate in prehab often experience shorter recovery times, fewer complications, and improved outcomes after surgery.
By building strength and confidence before a procedure, you can approach surgery feeling empowered and better prepared for the recovery process.
Personalized Care with Flexible Scheduling
At The Vista, rehabilitation treatment plans are customized to reflect individual needs, abilities, and goals. Flexible scheduling is available five days a week, making it easier to integrate your therapy into your daily routine without disrupting other activities and commitments. Sessions are one-on-one, so you’ll receive personalized care from an expert therapist who is focused on you. There is also the option to receive care at the Outpatient Rehabilitation gym on Christian Health’s Wyckoff campus, with scheduling available six days a week.
The rehabilitation team also provides support with confirming insurance coverage and obtaining physician prescriptions, helping to streamline the process and reduce stress for residents and their families.
