At The Vista, residents experience a vibrant lifestyle and plenty of engaging activities designed to inspire connection, creativity, and wellness. Whether it’s participating in fitness classes, attending live performances, or playing a friendly game with neighbors, residents have something meaningful to look forward to each day.

A Thoughtfully Curated Calendar

At The Vista, the extensive calendar of social activities, educational programs, fitness classes, and live entertainment is tailored to residents’ requests and interests to ensure they find life at the community fulfilling, fun, and interesting.

Teela Ferriola, Resident Services Coordinator, uses direct feedback from residents on what they would like to see on the schedule. All events and activities are posted on an easy-to-use app, Wellzesta, where residents can register their attendance, reserve their spot, and rate the event, which they often do quite highly.

“I ensure that each experience feels exclusive, engaging, and aligned with the vibrant lifestyle we strive to maintain at The Vista,” said Teela. “Our residents’ genuine appreciation truly makes my day. There’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing them wowed and hearing their enthusiastic feedback, knowing that I’ve played a part in creating that special event.”

“The programs are excellent,” said Elaine Goodman, a Vista resident. “It’s really a blessing to be here. My biggest complaint about them is I can’t do it all!”

Favorite Activities at The Vista

Aqua-cise

Among The Vista’s many stunning amenities is the Reach Aquatic Center, where residents can use the indoor heated pool year-round and swim to improve heart health, flexibility, muscle strength, and mental wellness. Residents also love to participate in the popular twice-weekly aquacise classes: a low-impact, strength-and-conditioning workout that provides the extensive health benefits of water-based exercise as well as the opportunity to socialize with friendly neighbors.

Live Musical Performances

A standout amenity at The Vista is definitely the Performing Arts Center. This stunning on-site venue features an array of lectures and performances, including live entertainment from renowned musicians in a variety of genres, such as jazz, classical, opera, orchestral, Latin, and more. Residents flock to enjoy music from notable performers such as Imperial Brass, internationally renowned violinist and composer and two-time Grammy Award winner Mads Tolling, and the New Jersey Wind Symphony.

Off-Site Trips and Excursions

Although there is so much to do at The Vista, residents love having fun off-campus, too. The community organizes frequent van and charter bus trips to cultural and historical sites, concerts and sporting events, and beautiful, scenic spots. Some of the residents’ favorite off-site excursions have included the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Yankee Stadium, New York Botanical Gardens, Lake Hopatcong cruises, a James Taylor concert at PNC Banks Art Center, and Broadway shows, such as “The Neil Diamond Musical: A Beautiful Noise” and “Just in Time.”

“My husband and I are actually doing more now: things we wouldn’t have done on our own,” said Vista resident Yvonne Johnson.

Bocce Ball

The Vista strives to ensure residents are heard so that they can live a lifestyle that meets their unique interests and expectations. After residents enthusiastically requested a bocce ball court, The Vista added one to the community. The competitive outdoor game is now a favorite pastime among residents, who gather to play, watch, and cheer for one another while enjoying the peaceful scenery at the community.

Happy Hour

Friday happy hours at The Vista’s cozy gathering place, the Windmill, are another one of the community’s most popular activities. This is the perfect way for residents to mingle with neighbors, enjoy drinks and light fare, and make new friends in the close-knit, welcoming community.

“Since I’ve been here, I’ve met a lot of people,” said Vista resident Frank Nusspickel. “The Vista is a very friendly environment. People are anxious to meet you and introduce themselves.”
