Fresh-Baked Comforts Are the Cherry on Top of the Vista Lifestyle

The residents of The Vista, Christian Health’s premier continuing care retirement community, enjoy an inviting, close-knit atmosphere with a variety of comforts that make the vibrant community feel just like home. The Vista’s residents partake in a wide range of social activities, enjoy access to luxury amenities, and share delicious, fresh-made meals with their friends, neighbors, and loved ones, crafted by culinary experts from the freshest locally sourced ingredients.

Homemade Pastries and Desserts at The Vista

The Vista’s two on-site restaurants, Gallery Bistro and fine-dining option Waterstone, both feature diverse menus filled with comforting homestyle classics – many dishes are even conceptualized with resident requests and preferences in mind.

“Our primary goal is to exceed our residents’ expectations daily with carefully crafted dishes that reflect their tastes and comfort foods that make them feel at home,” said Tim Strasser, Executive Chef at The Vista. “We want to ensure that each meal they enjoy is an elevated experience.”

After finishing a delicious meal at one of these restaurants, residents can enjoy a selection of decadent desserts and homemade pastries – baked fresh on-site by a trained pastry chef.

“You can tell the difference between a homemade pie or cake visually, as well as taste the difference when it’s made from scratch,” said Travis Northern-Velez, Dining Services Manager at The Vista. “It just feels like a hug because it’s made with love.”

A different dessert special is offered nightly at both of the community’s restaurants. Some of the delicious options Vista residents indulge in include black forest brownies, cheesecake, sweet potato pie, blondies, cranberry oatmeal cookies, pound cake, and lemon blueberry bars. Muffins and Danish pastries are also available daily for breakfast at Gallery Bistro, and fresh breads are sourced from local bakeries.

“The residents love it,” said Travis. “They look forward to it when they’re having their meals and always ask what the pastry chef made for dessert. It’s exciting to them, and we are dedicated to continuing this outstanding standard we’ve set.”

Resident requests are even considered when planning dessert menus – they are encouraged to voice their opinions and share their personal favorites that they would like to see featured.

“Even if it’s something they’re not familiar with, they want to try it because our pastry chef prepared it,” said Travis. “That speaks volumes to their trust in his confections.”

A Delightful Way to Dine with Friends

Residents love The Vista because of the sense of community – and the dining experience is no different. Many residents gather together and meet for a meal, enjoying the company of their neighbors.

“The one thing that’s great about The Vista is that everyone is extremely friendly to everybody else,” said Vista resident Susan Garrison. “If someone comes in by themselves, you invite them to sit down.”

Whether it’s the camaraderie among residents or the inviting aroma of fresh pastries and desserts, The Vista offers a comforting, homey lifestyle in a beautiful and social setting.
