Visiting The Vista

The Vista, a new retirement community coming to northern New Jersey, offers a fresh start

As families continue to battle uncertainties and challenges resulting from the coronavirus global outbreak, we’re reminded about the importance to maintain positivity and identifying some of the keys to happiness: a healthy environment, companionship with people we care about, and freedom to live a full, active life — on our own terms.

It’s for those reasons that The Vista, an independent living community opening in northern New Jersey in early 2021, is a great option for retirees who are looking forward to the next chapter of life. Here’s a look at what’s to come, and insight on how Christian Health (CH) has amplified safety, security, and health measures.

Do the things you love with people you enjoy.

At The Vista, we want you to keep doing the things that you love, and maybe even have a chance to explore new adventures — from exercise routines and favorite meals to hobbies, sources of entertainment, and life-long learning.

Stay fit with our state-of-the-art wellness center, where you can enjoy group exercise classes, water aerobics in our aquatic center, or strength-training in our fitness center. Enjoy some of the finer things that the Vista will offer by making your visions come to life in our art studio, take in a production in our cultural arts center, or peruse the books at our library. Soak in all that the outdoors have to offer with paved walking trails, gardens and gorgeous views of the Ramapo Mountains (where do you think the name “Vista” came from, after all?).

Oh, and don’t forget to eat like royalty with a variety of delicious foods and seasonal menus at our fine dining restaurant, cafés, and take-out pub-fares. See our dining options and menus.

Sometimes, new is good.

COVID-19 has disrupted life across the world, and disproportionately so in senior living communities. At The Vista, we’ll open with a clean slate.

As we continue to put the final touches on our campus and its over 160 finely detailed apartment homes catered toward active residents age 62 and older, all of our apartment homes and shared resources will be brand-new and never lived-in. In times like these, that’s a great luxury and a healthy option for you and your loved ones. View our 20 different floor plans.

The Vista is owned and operated by CH, and residents will benefit from more than a century of experience and excellence — as well as immediate and priority access to all of the award-winning health-care amenities that CH offers.

We’ve learned from the coronavirus that we can’t always predict the future, but we can prepare for it.

CH is proactive when it comes to health and safety.

The Vista is a Christian Health Community, which means future residents can take comfort in knowing they’re in good and experienced hands when it comes to health, safety, and security.

At CH’s existing independent living communities in Wayne and Wyckoff, we have taken strong measures with an abundance of caution to safeguard our residents and staff as part of our existing emergency-preparedness and infection-control plans.

CH has taken extraordinary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents — independent or otherwise. Our response to the coronavirus has been measured and tailored toward specific communities and individual needs.

CH department leaders meet daily to execute and respond to evolving state regulations, particularly as New Jersey plans to ease into a reopening. CH has also provided detailed information about COVID-19 to staff, residents, and families, to keep everyone as informed as possible, through a myriad of communication channels.

In addition, all CH employees are required to be screened daily upon arrival to work, including a temperature check, every day for every shift, and tested for COVID-19. Visit ChristianHealthNJ.org for a comprehensive look at CH’s COVID-19 response.

Our tireless and dedicated staff continuously adapt and deploy new best practices and state mandates in the face of this worldwide pandemic to live out a mission of commitment to those entrusted to our care. We’ve been doing it for more than a century, and will continue to do so for the next century and beyond.

That level of experience, foresight and prudent planning by our leadership team will benefit The Vista as we continue active building and construction in preparation for our grand opening in the spring of 2021.

The Vista is currently researching technologies and systems that will ultimately make our new community an even safer place to live, even in a situation created by COVID-19. These updates may include air purification systems, biometric systems for early detection of sickness, and disinfecting solutions in common areas. These new technologies are difficult to retrofit, so we’re thankful to be able to include the latest innovations at The Vista while under construction. In addition, we are investigating safer operations for dining, wellness, visitor/staff screenings, and in-home delivery capabilities that will make living in a community like The Vista an optimal place to be for improved comfort and safety during an unforeseen crisis. This is just a sprinkling of examples that we’re researching and considering to design and build an even better Vista.

While people look to get back to the lives they once enjoyed — and perhaps start new and better phases — we want to be a part of that journey, offering a community that’s built for fun, leisure, and safe and healthy lifestyles. Contact us today to discuss how The Vista could be the right choice for you.
